Common questions

Does what I type leave my iPhone?

It depends on your iPhone, and the app tells you which applies to yours.

iPhones with Apple Intelligence write your typed action on the device itself. Nothing is sent anywhere.
iPhones without it can't do that locally, so the action you type is sent to our server to be written, then discarded. It is never stored and never used to train anything.

Open Settings inside Reroll and look at Where things happen. The Typed actions row says either "On this iPhone" or "On our server", in those words. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Settings says AI life events are "not on this iPhone". Is something broken?

No, and you aren't missing any of the game. These are two separate features:

AI-written life events need Apple Intelligence. Where it isn't available, your years come from Reroll's hand-written story library instead — that's the complete game, start to finish.
Typed actions work either way. They are the "do anything" bar at the bottom of the screen.

If your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence but events still aren't written for you, check that Apple Intelligence is turned on in iOS Settings and that Siri's language matches your device language.

What does Reroll Plus include?

Plus lifts the limit on typed actions. What that means depends on your iPhone:

Where the storyteller runs on your device, Plus removes the daily cap entirely.
Where it runs on our server, Plus is what unlocks typed actions at all, with a fair-use limit of 100 a day.

Plus is sold as a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-off lifetime purchase. The subscriptions come with a free trial; the App Store shows its exact length before you confirm, and the app reads the same figure rather than quoting its own. The rest of the game is never held behind it, and Reroll is ad-free with or without Plus.

How do I restore a purchase, or cancel?

Open the Plus screen in Reroll — the "Go unlimited" link under the typed-action bar will take you there.

Restore Purchases re-syncs a subscription or lifetime unlock you already own, on this or any device signed in to the same Apple Account.
Manage Subscription opens Apple's own screen, where you can cancel or switch plan.

Apple handles every payment. We never see your card details, and we have no account to delete. Cancelling is always Apple's screen, never ours.

Will I lose a life if I close the app?

No. Your life is written to the device as you play, not saved only at the end, so it survives closing the app, restarting your iPhone and updating Reroll. Reopen the app and you carry on from the year you were on.

Lives live only on your device. There is no account and no backup on our side, so removing the app removes them.

I typed an action and nothing came of it. Why?

Usually one of three things, and none of them costs you anything:

The world said no. Actions that are implausible for your age, era, country or money tend to fail the way they would in life. That's the game working, not a bug.
The storyteller didn't answer in time. Rather than show you an error, Reroll quietly carries on with the year. Your allowance isn't spent when this happens.
It was refused. A small number of things are blocked whatever you type, and Reroll says so in the story's own voice rather than lecturing you. Refusals never count against your allowance.

Does Reroll upload my lives?

No. Your lives, your avatar and every counter in the app stay on your device, and there are no accounts, no third-party analytics and no ad networks. The only thing that can leave your iPhone is a typed action on a device that can't write it locally, described above and in the privacy policy.
